Retro Cheats Privacy Policy
Effective October 18, 2026
Retro Cheats is an Android app made by Knutso Labs ("we"). This policy explains what information the app uses and why. In short: no account, your stuff stays on your phone, and we keep as little as possible.
No account needed
You never sign up or give us your name or email to use Retro Cheats. Your favorites, settings, trivia scores and badges are stored only on your device. We can't see them.
Ads
After your first 3 launches, the app shows one ad when it opens, through Google AdMob. Google may collect your device's advertising ID and related data to show, limit and measure ads. Where the law requires it, the app asks for your consent first. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's Settings. Learn more about how Google uses data from apps.
Purchases
The one-time "Infinite Lives" purchase that removes ads is handled entirely by Google Play. We never see or store your payment details.
Camera scan
If you use the camera scan, the photo you take is sent to our scan server and to Google Cloud Vision to recognize the games in it. The photo is used only for that and is not stored by us. Each scan also includes a random app ID that isn't linked to you or your Google account. It's used only to limit how many scans a phone can do per day, and it's deleted within 2 days. The camera is used only when you choose to scan.
Problem reports
When you report a code or trivia question, the report contains only the game, the code or question, and the reason you picked. It contains no personal information.
What we don't do
We don't sell your information, and we don't collect your name, contacts, location, or files.
Children
Retro Cheats isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling Retro Cheats removes everything the app stored on your phone. Since we don't keep personal data on our side, there's nothing else to delete. Questions? Email us below.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
